We hope this note finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy during these difficult times. Please know that GCNYC staff have been planning various online community building events and opportunities and will be sharing more information in the next few days. During this time of transition all staff are working remotely and have been collaborating on ways to continue to prioritize student needs.
We continue to pay close attention to guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. State Department, New York State Education Department (NYSED) and Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and the actions of other U.S. Higher Education institutions. We are also listening very carefully to suggestions and concerns from GCNYC students, faculty and staff. Our principal concern is to protect everyone’s health and well-being in line with government recommendations.
What is clear is that the coronavirus continues to spread in the U.S. and especially in NY State, and increasingly severe measures are being considered and being taken by state and federal governments.
At this time, GCNYC has received no reports of COVID-19 in the GCNYC community. However, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to extend the suspension of in-person instruction and the continuation of online instruction until Friday, May 15 2020.This will be consistent with many U.S. Higher Education institutions who have now cancelled in-person classes for the remainder of their Spring Semesters. We will review the situation again nearer that time.
Please take care during this time and know that GCNYC is here to support you however we can.
