TRI-A/COVID-19 Important Update

TRI-A/COVID-19 Important Update

Dear GCNYC Community,

GCNYC has weighed the best options for delivering classes this fall, and we have concluded that the best way to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and your families is to continue remote instruction for Trimester A. All Trimester A classes will be conducted remotely for the entirety of the term, which on September 3 and ends on December 3.

Early Registration for Trimester A was extended until Friday, July 10. Please contact your Academic Advisor to discuss course schedule and offerings.

We will monitor the recommendations of New York State and health officials throughout the summer and will be making decisions regarding the working location of GCNYC staff as well as community events. A decision regarding an on-campus Dissertation Townhall and Commencement in December will be made in the fall.

GCNYC staff will continue to work remotely as well and are available via email, phone or Zoom.

I want to thank everyone in the community for making remote learning successful and community events lively and thoughtful. Discussions have taken place with faculty to develop ways to further strengthen online pedagogy as we head into fall, and we plan to continue the engaging discussions and workshops that have been happening weekly since March.  Despite spending all of my time with everyone via a computer, I feel like a welcome part of an exceptional family.

All the best,

Jacqueline LeBlanc, Ph.D.

Vice President and Provost
