Careers in Sustainability and Social Impact

What is a sustainability or social impact job? An impact job is any position in which a person has the agency to use their position as an employee to make a positive social or environmental impact.

Jobs that leverage sustainability and social impact expertise are growing in number and variety and are credited with a large part of the recovery from the 2008 crisis and are key to the post COVID-19 economic recovery globally.

Many of the core skills that we embed into our curriculum at GCNYC are urgently needed in organizations across the impact space, such as a strong EQ, systems thinking, the ability to drive change in adverse circumstances, the ability to manage through ambiguity, and understanding and embedding triple bottom line considerations into operational models.
