At Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC), the safety and security of our students, staff and faculty is our number one priority. All employees and students should familiarize themselves with this plan and its requirements. Our staff receive training to ensure they are prepared to help in the unlikely event of an emergency or other incident. For all questions and concerns please refer to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Annual Security Report
Beginning in October 2021, every year on or before October 1, the Title IX Coordinator of GCNYC will release a report on the safety of the campus over the past three years. The report will include details on the initiatives GCNYC has introduced to provide security on our campus, the schedules and results of our regular fire safety inspections, and all of our crime and safety-related policies and practices.
In the event of a campus-wide emergency, GCNYC will notify students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner via text message, email, web posting, in-building announcements and/or public placards.
Please find further information on our Emergency Action Plan here.

All crimes, accidents or incidents should be reported to the Title IX Coordinator or a CSA within 24 hours of the incident occurring using the incident reporting form, copies are available in the office of the Title IX Coordinator. Our published materials for students, staff and faculty reflect our policy that the decision to report a crime is an individual choice; that the College commits itself to not revealing any details which would make victims or witnesses identifiable and provides ways in which individuals can confidentially make reports.
Any member of the GCNYC staff can help direct you to a Campus Security Authority to formally report an incident. You can contact the Title IX Coordinator directly at email@example.com, 646-768-5357 or contact the NYPD.
Incidents occurring during class time should be reported to Campus Security at the building entrance.
GCNYC complies with federal and state law in handling reports of violations, including drug laws. Our Smoke-Free Campus Policy can be found in the College Catalog in section 17.24 and our Alcohol and Drug Policies can be found in section 17.27.
Weapons (defined as instruments designed to cause injury, intended to cause injury, or imply a threat to cause injury), including simulated weapons, are not allowed on the GCNYC campus except when those possessed by Law Enforcement officials as recognized by appropriate governmental agencies. Those in possession of a weapon or a simulated weapon will be dealt with as a threat to campus safety and duly reported to NYPD and/or appropriate law enforcement agencies.
