Glasgow Caledonian New York College Self Study

Glasgow Caledonian New York College Self Study

Glasgow Caledonian New York College sought and was awarded candidacy status by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) on June 21, 2018. Candidacy status indicates that GCNYC has achieved membership and is progressing towards, but is not assured of, accreditation.

The next step in the process of attaining accreditation by MSCHE was to prepare a “self-study,” which took place during 2019 and 2020. GCNYC submitted the self-study in February 2021 and subsequently hosted a peer evaluation team visit in April 2021.

The evaluation team’s findings were shared with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, who in June 2021, postponed a decision on GCNYC’s accreditation status, and requested a supplemental information report, due December 1, 2021, as well as a follow-up team visit to take place in December 2021. In accordance with this request, interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to the Commission.

Third party comments are considered at times when an institution is completing a self-study evaluation, follow-up report, candidacy, or grant of accreditation. Third party comments should relate to whether the institution’s performance is consistent with the Commission’s standards for accreditation or requirements of affiliation.

The Commission will consider only those third party comments that are submitted online using the Commission’s Complaints and Third Party Comments Form. The form must be completed in its entirety and submitted online.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact Rebekah Chow, Director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness, at Rebekah.Chow@gcu.ac.uk.
