Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC) is New York City’s College For the Common Good. Our three Master of Science degrees examine business, fashion, and risk management through the lenses of sustainability and social impact. Founded by Glasgow Caledonian University, which has more than 20,000 students worldwide, GCNYC shares a commitment to people, planet and profitability with a smaller, tight-knit community of students, faculty and staff.

The College is located in the heart of historic SoHo in a newly renovated, gallery-esque space and serves as a vibrant hub for industry professionals motivated by the Common Good. GCNYC is chartered by the New York State Department of Education and is a candidate for accreditation by the Middle States Commission for Higher Education.

Advanced Programs

Master’s Degree Offerings

GCNYC offers distinctive Master of Science degrees in Business for Social Impact & Sustainability, Sustainable Fashion, and Risk, Resilience and Integrity Management. These purpose-driven graduate programs are tailored for working professionals interested in an interdisciplinary sustainability degree. At GCNYC, classes are offered in the evenings at our Manhattan campus or online to accommodate our students’ schedules.

Based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, our practical curriculum builds knowledge, skills and ability for leadership roles as global stewards of social responsibility. Through rigorous coursework and applied research, our students explore the use of business and industry as forces for good, learn strategies for balancing sustainability, and discover how to balance social and governance priorities while continuing to deliver profitability.

Non-Degree Offerings

In addition to Master of Science degrees, GCNYC offers non-degree professional development courses that will help students take their sustainability careers to the next level. The non-degree courses combine academic theory with pragmatic topics centered around social impact and global business.

Individuals with a bachelor’s degree can pursue 12 weeks of a 4-credit class or a 6-week non-credit opportunity. With a weekly commitment of 4 hours or less, students benefit from the industry expertise of GCNYC faculty while preparing for the next step in their careers or future graduate study.
