Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC) is New York City’s College For the Common Good. Dedicated to education through the lens of sustainability, GCNYC leverages nearly 150 years of academic excellence to bring a distinctly global perspective to its degree programs. The College is located at 64 Wooster Street in the heart of the vibrant and historic SoHo neighborhood of New York City. For the convenience of its students, classes are offered in the evenings. GCNYC is chartered by the New York State Department of Education and is a candidate for accreditation by the Middle States Commission for Higher Education.

Founded by Glasgow Caledonian University, GCNYC shares a commitment to people, planet and profit with more than 20,000 students and 1,500 staff around the world.

Advanced Programs

GCNYC offers distinctive Master’s of Science degree programs in Impact-Focused Business and Investing, International Fashion Marketing, and Risk, Resilience and Integrity Management. These are tailored for students entering as accomplished professionals in their sectors. The curricula focus knowledge, skills and ability needed for increasingly responsible leadership roles as global stewards of sustainability and social responsibility.

The programs are practical, relevant, research-based and purpose driven. Focusing on the intersection of profitability and sustainability, our students explore the of use of business and industry as forces for good, learning strategies for balancing environmental, social and governance priorities while continuing to deliver financial success.

GCNYC Master’s of Science programs are intended to be hands on and transferable. The draw upon real-life examples including case studies to challenge students to immediately practice what they have learned in class. All programs are conveniently scheduled for part-time and full-time students and designed with working professionals in mind.

Mission

GCNYC’s Common Good mission is to work with others in order to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through problem solving and systems thinking, particularly in relation to profitability and sustainability.

As an educational institution, GCNYC will be highly collaborative with other institutions, key stakeholders in the private sector, and NGOs to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The curriculum will focus on problem solving with an emphasis on systems thinking and human centered design.

GCNYC is an independent, not-for-profit higher educational institution committed to the Common Good chartered in New York State, based in New York City, offering business-related, post-graduate programs grounded in sustainability.

  • Research Goals: Research at GCNYC will focus on development of real-world solutions to challenges faced by its stakeholders and community by developing knowledge with immediate application intended to contribute to systemic change, generate results, and establish principles and practices that can be enhanced through collaboration.

 

  • Service goals: GCNYC will draw upon its resources to:
    • Apply knowledge as a tool to serve community and environment to drive purpose and Common Good.
    • Support economic drivers and business by facilitating the incorporation of responsible practice.
